What to Expect from the Re-release of Avengers-Endgame??
The Avengers are assembling yet again.
During Spider-Man: Far From Home press interview Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige revealed that Avengers: Endgame is returning to the theatre with extra footage and "New Surprises".
Kevin Feige explained that it isn't an extended cut.
There will be a version going into theatres with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits there'll be a deleted scene, a little tribute and a few surprises.
What Can These Surprises Be??
Well, we got a few ideas.
Surprise 1
You must have heard of fans fantasising that the Ant-Man franchise actors Paul Rudd and Michael Pena recapping the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Surprise 2
The surprises can be the bloopers or basically a video clip of Kevin Feige lecturing Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo about their loose lips problem.
Surprise 3
It can be something special from the massive cast thanking Marvel Fans for joining them on this Cinematic journey that began back in 2008.
Surprise 4
Kevin Feige mentioned a little tribute and we know who it is for. It should be honouring the Late. Stan Lee.
The re-release is scheduled to hit theatres Friday, June 28, and could be either a one-night-only engagement or more likely finish its second run in Cinemas by end of day on Sunday, June 30.
You Must be Wondering why such a short time in theatres??
Well, the answer is Marvel has another movie in the line up releasing just a few days later.
Spider-Man: Far From Home, the movie that serves as the official conclusion to Phase 3 of the MCU.
Far From Home debuts Tuesday, July 2. Only a few days after Marvel is putting Endgame back in theatres.
If the Endgame re-release carried out into the week of Far From Home's premiere, it would obviously impact the film's box office performance.
And also Marvel is not that stupid.
The Motivation??
It appears that Marvel's main motivation for the Avengers: Endgame re-release is lifting the numbers a bit.
Many watched eagerly as Endgame inched closer to making history as the "Top-earning movie in History" by dethroning James Cameron's Avatar but fans didn't see that happen before the film ended its theatrical run.
Although there is nothing wrong with it considering the fact that Avatar and Titanic also released a few times which makes it even.
Although Avengers: Endgame took in $2.743 Billion worldwide, it still sits several million dollars behind Avatar which has earned $2.787 Billion globally.
All that stands between Avengers: Endgame and the title of "Highest Grossing Fim in History" are roughly $44 Million. Endgame made $60 Million during Thursday night domestic preview screening alone, so it might not be that difficult for the movie to take that $44 Million with the re-release.
